Name:  Copify

Websitehttps://uk.copify.com/

CEO: Martin Harrison

Year founded: 2010

Type: Content marketplace

What is Copify?

Copify is an online content marketplace that connects digital marketing agencies and professionals who want to order content with people who are qualified to write it. Copify offers different types of writing which include product descriptions, blog posts, press releases, etc.

As you may have heard, “Content is King.” Many people do not have the time to write content for their websites/blogs. Outsourcing written content can save them time and money.

Copify was founded in 2010. Martin Harrison, CEO and Rob McVey, co-founder runs the website. They are currently headquartered in Lancaster, England (UK).

How does Copify work?

If you are looking to make money with Copify the first thing you have to do is sign up and create a writer’s account. Be sure to complete your profile and lists your skills, CV, etc.

Before you can start working you must pass a writing test by Copify. You will be told what the topic is and how many words should be written. While you are taking the test you cannot copy and paste.

After you take the test you have to wait to be accepted. If you are accepted you will get access to the job board. The job board has a list of different types of orders. The list includes the type of job, how much it pays and when the job is due. If the client has any special instructions, it will be included also.

Before you accept a job you have to take into consideration the amount of time you are given to complete. It depends on the word count for each task. For example, if a task requires 100-500 words you are given 24 hours after you accept the task.

If you think it would take you longer to complete the task you would have to notify Copify.

If you accept, it turns into an “In progress” task. Once you finish the task and submit it, the client has 30 days to review your work. I think that is a lot of time to review. In the meantime, you are just waiting.

The Copify editor can not reject your work but could ask for multiple revisions to meet the task requirements.

If Copify does not get a response from the client in 30 days you will get paid. Clients are able to rate your work up to five stars. The more stars you get, the higher your pay level goes up

Once it is approved, the money will be added to your Copify wallet. Once you hit £20, you can request a withdrawal of funds to your bank account, if you reside in the UK or PayPal.

When you are accepted as a writer on Copify you start off as a “standard writer.” Standard writers are paid around $0.04 USD. per word. A 500-word article adds up to $20.

After you 25th submission you can apply for a professional writer position. Keep in mind your feedback should be good as well.

“Professional writers” get paid more. If you are deemed a “professional writer” you will get paid $0.06 per work, which adds up to $30 for a 500- word article.

Pros:

  • Straightforward, easy to apply to Copify. The test consists of a couple of hundred words. You are given one hour to complete the test.
  • There are no limitations to the amount of work you can do.
  • Copify is good for making some extra money. It is likened to a content mill. Content mills are more focused on the quantity of work than the quality of content. Copify pays through Paypal. Payments are issued daily.
  • Working with Copify is very flexible. If you have about an hour to kill you can choose a task that takes a short amount of time to complete.
  • Once the work is approved, you are paid. No invoicing or chasing your money.

Cons:

  • The pay is very low.
  • You don’t have access to the clients.
  • You do know when or where your work is used. That makes it hard to use if for your portfolio.
  • Quick deadlines. Make sure you have the time before accepting the task.
  • It can take weeks for your work to be approved. After 30 days of silence, the work is automatically approved.
  • There is not a lot of work available all the time. Don’t expect to make a full time living with Copify.

Conclusion

Copify is a legit writing platform. It is not a scam. I believe it is a place to get your feet wet if you have new to content writing. And if you are not then it’s a place to make a few extra dollars.
